When Johnny comes marching home again
We’ll give him a hearty welcome then
The men will cheer and the boys will shout
The ladies—they will all turn out
The old church bell will peal with joy
To welcome home our darling boy
When Johnny comes marching home

Coming back …

And a hearty welcome it was yesterday in College Station for 2012 Texas A&M Heisman Trophy recipient, Johnny Manziel.

New head coach for the Aggies, Jimbo Fisher, shown below with Texas A&M’s 2012 Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel.

February 10th was an action packed day for Johnny Manziel who had previously mentioned his intention of visiting College Station in honor of National Signing Day activities. Manziel also rolled out his new clothing line, and later Johnny was on hand at Reed Arena for the action-packed A&M basketball comeback victory over #24 Kentucky, which is also where he met new A&M head coach, Jimbo Fisher.

Coming back to Aggieland …

Johnny’s day started off with a visit to the Ags training facility.  No details as of yet what his time there looked like, but it is always good to see Johnny in the end zone!

Back to Basics …

Next Johnny headed over to the well-loved TexAgs store located at 308 George Bush Drive in College Station where he met with fans and signed merchandise for hours.

Johnny’s loyal fans braved the unusually cold weather (for Texas at least) for upwards of four hours, where many had begun waiting in line prior to the 1 pm start time.  Attendees were excited to not only score ComebackSZN goods, but also to lay their eyes on their hometown hero once again.

A special thank you goes to several of our fans on the Texas Loves Johnny Manziel Facebook page who were kind enough to share some of their photos from the event with us.

Andrea Madera Allen shared a photo of Johnny with some of the fans who were outside TexAgs, and said, Hes so cool! He mingled with his fans waiting in line!

Manziel’s very popular clothing line known as “ComebackSZN” (we like to call it “Manziel March”) was available for the convenience and happiness of JManFans who are already clamoring for these new additions.

The popular line features his signature #2 and several other items that are reminiscent of Manziel’s college days. More than 10,000 units were sold in a few days after the items were presented for sale through the ComebackSZN Store.

LA Valdez mentioned that the area was packed to overflowing and that the line was still quite long after they left despite the bitterly cold temperatures. Several other fans expressed dismay that they couldn’t make it to College Station to see Johnny, but were happy to score some of the much coveted Manziel Merch in time for Valentines day!

Back to 2012 …

Special thanks to Zachary Morgan for tagging Jeremiah O’Sullivan and Hungry Howie’s Pizza on the #TxLovesJFF Facebook Page in one of the most awesome pieces of Manziel Memorabilia that we have ever seen!

TxLovesJFF just had to know more about the story behind this innovative one-of-a-kind pie and reached out to Jeremiah O’Sullivan to learn a bit more about how it all came about.

Jeremiah said they made the “trophy” pizza for fun in honor of the special occasion, but then the story about The Pizza that Beat Alabama quickly went viral and was picked up by outlets such as Yahoo, NBC, Bleacher Report, and others.

The look on Johnny’s face says it all. It must be amazing and a bit overwhelming to realize how much his accomplishments have meant to fans and local businesses through the years.

No word yet on how the ComebackSZN store did, or how many people were in attendance at the TexAgs gathering, but Reed Arena was sold out with 13,263 fans packing in for the rip-roaring game.  Johnny was featured predominately throughout the game where he waved hello to fans.

The ladies–they will all turn out …

The Texas A&M cheerleaders also took advantage of Johnny’s presence at the evening’s basketball game against Kentucky for a photo op with one of Aggieland’s most famous athletes.

And a good time was had by all … when Johnny came back home.
