Well … the 2017 NFL draft is in full swing and as feared, the Browns have indeed selected Myles Garrett as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft.
Sigh.
We would love to believe that the Texas A&M defensive end can work miracles in Cleveland, but if Manziel can’t … can anyone? There is a deep vein of discontent in C-town, and unlike the Browns, Garrett has a great record, and completed 2016 with a 1-15 record, and he will rake in some great perks for being drafted number one, but one must ask, is it worth it, when a player is drafted to CLEVELAND?
Garrett thinks so. “Big things are coming” he said in reference to his message to Browns fans.
Excuse us if we have heard this before. Garrett certainly has his work cut out for him since the Browns have not seen the playoffs since 1999 – only the second time ever, after their retread in the NFL.
Although Myles took in the draft in Arlington, TX instead of attending in Philadelphia, he was enthused about “achieving just one of my goals,” according to ESPN.
Many Aggie fans were desperately hoping that the Browns would go for North Carolina quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, or really anyone but Garrett. But, no dice!
And in other Texas news, Texas Tech QB standout, Patrick Mahomes, went to Kansas City. And the Houston Texans traded up with the Browns (who took Brock Osweiler, earlier) for Deshaun Watson.
Here again, the Browns and the Texans seem to be in competition over how many QB’s they can possibly employ in the fewest years.
The top three QB’s are gone – what does this bode for Manziel? Could certainly add up to a wild season … what are your thoughts???
