CBS11 in Dallas has reported that Hotel ZaZa security video from Jan 30th may confirm Johnny Manziel’s innocence, and may even reveal that his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, was attacking him.

The Dallas County grand jury convened downtown on Thursday. Crowley and Manziel did not appear to be present. However, the Frank Crowley Courts Building hosts an array of various entrances where persons may enter or exit in a more discreet fashion.

After reviewing evidence from the alleged incident, the Dallas Police Department made the unusual move to send the case to a grand jury instead of arresting Johnny Manziel for the misdemeanor, probably due to very weak or nonexistent evidence, and a desire to avoid making an unpopular decision.

Fort Worth police also declined to arrest Johnny Manziel and noted that Crowley was “uncooperative.”

Meanwhile Jason LaCanfora and Damen Amendolara, while speaking on the Gottlieb show, also referenced the video that was apparently presented at the grand jury, which strongly suggested that Manziel would be vindicated.

It was also reported today by multiple sources, that the civil settlement between Johnny Manziel and Crowley has previously been settled.

It is expected that the grand jury will deliver their decision regarding indictment or “no bill” perhaps on Friday or maybe Monday.

According to “The Dallas Morning News”, Dallas defense attorney Toby Shook said the district attorney’s office is following typical procedure. “Class A” misdemeanor assault carries a maximum punishment of a year in the county jail and a $4,000 fine.

Shook also told “The Dallas Morning News” that he’s skeptical about the case ending in a conviction. “If they indict that, they’ve probably been watching too much of him on TMZ,” Shook said. “If it were a good case, the police would have arrested him.”
