In a statement provided to USA TODAY Sports, Johnny Manziel said: “I’m hoping to take care of the issues in front of me right now so I can focus on what I have to do if I want to play in 2016 … I also continue to be thankful to those who really know me and support me.”
Denise Michaels, Manziel’s spokesperson added: “So many people only have one image of Jonathan but, believe it or not, he takes all this very seriously. He’s hoping that he can clear up his personal issues, start interviewing agents and see what he needs to do if he wants to play this year.”
Johnny Manziel’s contract with Agent Drew Rosenhaus Manziel also expired on Tuesday, according to an ESPN report. Rosenhaus gave the Heisman Trophy winner and Texas A&M standout a very public ultimatum last week, which Manziel chose to ignore.
Good timing, as the case regarding an attack (alleged by his ex-girlfriend), will be headed to the Grand Jury on Thursday. (See our blog from earlier today for more details.)
As always, we continue to support Johnny and want the very best for him.
